A cloned voice needs about three seconds of public audio to copy your grandchild's panic. The defense is deliberately low-tech and free.

  • Agree a family code word in advance, one that never surfaces online and you never write down
  • Hang up and call back on a number you already have, never one the caller gives you
  • Ask something a stranger could not answer, like what kind of dog you have
  • Treat gift cards, wire transfers, or cryptocurrency as the confession: no hospital or bail takes them

It costs one phone call, and it defeats a $60-a-month machine.
