About

One world, many angles.

A kaleidoscope doesn't add anything to the world. It takes what's already there and turns it, until you notice something you'd walked past a hundred times.

That's the idea.

We write about fashion and technology, health and cosmetics, travel and etiquette, and the people and events worth paying attention to. They don't belong together in any tidy way. But that's how curiosity actually works. Nobody reads one section of their life.

What we're for

Being interesting. That's the whole standard. If a piece doesn't tell you something you didn't know, or show you something familiar from a new side, it doesn't run.

We keep politics light, not absent. You can't write honestly about health or technology or travel and pretend power doesn't exist. But we're not here to sort you into a camp. When a subject has more than one reasonable position, we'll show you the positions. You're capable of the rest.

How it works

The front page adapts to what you read, from the first click. No account required. If you want more say, you can upvote and downvote what surfaces, and comment either by signing in here or through the Fediverse from wherever you already are. Your call.

What we won't do

We won't sell your data. Not now, not when someone offers a number that makes it tempting.

We'll run advertising eventually. Magazines cost money, and we'd rather take it from advertisers than from you. When we do, it will stay out of the way of the reading. If it ever doesn't, tell us.
