The border I braced for was a web form; the crush moved to the coast. Vietnam logged 10.6 million arrivals in the first five months of 2026, a record.
So go sideways:
- Apply direct at evisa.gov.vn ($25 single entry, $50 multiple), not the lookalike sites that add a fee
- 90 days, single or multiple entry, through any of 42 gates
- Trade Nha Trang and Da Nang for Tuy Hoa, a working beach town on the Reunification Express
- Quy Nhon stays quiet because it has no major airport: you arrive by train or not at all
