The 100ml Rule Did Not End in Italy

Italy's year-old exemption covers five airports and changes lane by lane, because what lifts the 100ml limit is a scanner's certificate, not a country's policy.

Italy's 100ml exemption, from July 2025, covers five airports, with the rule changing by terminal and by lane. It lifts scanner by scanner, and the regulation says the limit "may" come off after a European retest, not that it must.

As ENAC, Italy's aviation authority, published them on August 5, 2025:

Fiumicino: 2 liters, except US and Israel flights checking in at Terminal 1 and some non-Schengen transfers
Linate and Malpensa Terminal 1: 2 liters. Terminal 2 and Turin: fast track only
Bologna: the one ENAC describes as covering all passengers and all destinations
ENAC's passenger page still showed the 100ml rule when I checked on August 23

Medicines, special dietary items and baby milk are exempt. The weakest lane on your itinerary sets your limit, usually the flight home, so confirm with the airport and your airline before flying.
