GTA 6 is locked to November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, but locked is a claim, not a fact. Rockstar apologized for the wait, pre-orders are live at $79.99 (standard) and $99.99 (ultimate), and Take-Two is telling the SEC to expect record results off this one launch.
Why the asterisk:
- The game slipped from 2025 to May 2026 to November, roughly 18 months past its original internal target.
- In early January, Bloomberg's Jason Schreier reported that, last he heard, the game was "still not content complete," and said no one at Rockstar can promise November with certainty.
- And, Schreier notes, a fiscal buffer to March 2027 leaves room for one more slip.
Schreier calls this date more solid than the last one. Still: locked is a claim, shipped is a fact.
